Name: Nearo Shadowbane
Occupation: Commanding Officer, 5th Marine Reconnaissance Brigade
Affiliation: House Proudmoore, Kul Tiras
Alignment: Lawful Good
Nearo was born in Boralus to a family of shipbuilders. His parents had moved to Boralus from Drustvar shortly before Nearo was born - looking to use their skills in metalworking to supply the Kul Tiran fleet which was steadily growing thanks to the peacetime prosperity enjoyed under the leadership of the new Lord Admiral Daelin Proudmoore. The seas had always been a dangerous place, but the scourge of piracy had begun to re-emerge and the wealthy merchant families of Kul Tiras - as well as nobles throughout the rest of the Eastern Kingdoms, looked to Kul Tiras and the Proudmoore Admiralty to re-establish Law and Order on the high seas so that peaceful commerce between the nations could continue undisturbed.
Working within his family's metalworking shop smithing weapons, armor and mechanical components for the Admiralty, he came to meet, befriend and admire the men and women in the Kul Tiran Navy and Marines. Military service with Kul Tiras called to him and so he petitioned and was finally admitted into the Proudmoore Naval Academy to train as a gunner's mate.
His first years in the service prior to the First War were largely spent protecting the shipping lanes from pirates, but as the threats to Kul Tiras grew especially in the Alliance’s land campaigns during the Second War, he volunteered for expeditionary missions with the Marines - with whom he shared a more aggressive streak. It was during these land campaigns that Nearo and other Marines fought alongside the mainlander forces where he witnessed the great acts of faith and herosim by the likes of Uther the Lightbringer, Tirion Fordring, Saidan Dathrohan, Gavinrad the Dire and Turalyon.
His most recent years saw him commanding the Fifth Fleet of Kul Tiras, the nation's sole military commitment to the mainland with Boralus having withdrawn support for the Alliance at the end of the Third War when they refused to retaliate against the Horde after the death of Lord Admiral Daelin Proudmoore. The Fifth Fleet would conduct anti-piracy operations as well as help hunt down those responsible for working against Kul Tiras in the Kalimdor campaign that ended in the death of Lord Admiral Daelin Proudmoore - and bring them to Kul Tiran justice.
With Kul Tiras now back in the Alliance and facing Horde invasion, only a few things have remained a constant: His love and service for Kul Tiras, his devotion to the Holy Light, and his unwavering belief that the Orcs must pay for their crimes with the complete extermination of their entire parasitic race from Azeroth.
